Today I’m going to show you how to remove tint from your windows the easy, faster and with little to no mess as compared to just picking and pulling the tint film out and deal with the sticky glue residue which is messy and takes a lot longer time.
The only tools you need is a heat gun and some type of a thin blade to start peeling the tint. Some people also have success using a blow dryer. The goal here is to get the glass and the tint film hot enough so that the glue will stick to the film instead of the glass when you are pulling it out.
In my case, I needed to heat up the window pretty good before I started pulling. You will know if it is not hot enough if you start seeing the glue sticking to the glass instead of the tint.
You have to do thisĀ one section at a time so that you are sure that the glass is hot enough that you can easily peel off the tint.
Off to the next section.. one section at a time. Just remember to move the heat gun back and forth so that you will not have hot spots especially on the trim or on the rubber seal…you don’t want to melt those.
You can buy a heat gun if you don’t have one at harbor freight for about 12 dollars. I bought mine at Amazon for 20 bucks several months ago for another project that I was doing…but a heat gun can be a part of your tool collection because it has a lot of other uses like scraping off paint, bending PVC pipes and many more…
When the big section of the window has been peeled off, you just need to raise up the window so that you can pull out the rest of the tint.
There you go guys, in less than 5 mins. you can take off your tint completely and you don’t have to clean up the glue which can be messy.
