Well holidays are over and it is time to take down our Christmas decorations. I don’t know about you guys but we have a lot of wreaths and garlands. And this year, we added a couple of more to our ever growing collection. I usually just toss them in the attic every year after the holidays but now we have a lot and we are running out of attic space. My wife also has been complaining that the wreaths have always looked smooshed and she has to put time and effort to spruce them up again. My wife gave me an idea and told me if I can hang them instead of laying them down and stacking them.
So what I did was buy a roll of utility wire from the hardware store for less than $10 dollars, got my wire cutter and up to the attic I go. I found a couple of beams that I can loop and tie the wire into and make it like a clothes line.
With my wire and my trusty Gerber multitool, I tied one end of the wire on a beam and going across to the other side and found another place to tie the other end. I already hanged a couple of wreaths to sample it out and it looks pretty good.
If you have a door hanger you can actually store your wreaths just by hanging them directly to the beam. On the line that I just made, I now hook up the wreaths…I cut a piece of wire about a foot or more, get the wreath and slip the wire in to make like a little hanger. I then go to the wire line and just tie the wreath to hang it.
Let’s do a couple more..cut a piece of wire..loop it on the wreath and and then on the wire…I’ll do the rest of the wreaths and will put up another line to hang the garlands…
This is how it is going to look like..see more organized and no more squashed looking wreaths. and on the other line, I put up the garlands…
