This life hack or my DIY project is one of the reasons why this website was started. I have 2 boys and they were doing ok with their toileting until this year when they learned doing everything fast so that they can go back to their X-Box game.
One thing that annoys me when cleaning the toilet is that the splatter that goes to the hinges of the toilet seat and it has a tendency to go to the nooks and cranny of the hinges and to the screw holes and down the bottom of the toilet. If you have boys in the house and you are the one cleaning the toilet, you will know exactly what I mean.
So, I thought that there will be a product somewhere that will solve this issue. I was already thinking of adding and investing a urinal (the one like on the men’s public restroom) to be installed in the bathroom. I was looking on the internet and there was only one product that I found in Ebay which is exactly what I need except that it costs $25.00 for a plastic shield. I have 2 bathroom that the boys use and spending 50 bucks for a dollar’s worth of plastic and thinking that it might not even work, so I have to pass up on that product.
I started looking around the house of something round or oval shape plastic that I can use and I found half a dozen oval bowls that my wife bought from a dollar store last year that is a perfect size to cover the back half of the toilet. I also realized that just adding a hook (I used the clip from an old garage door clicker) and hot gluing it on the bottom of the bowl, I can easily attach the contraption to the toilet seat.
Viola! made a couple for the 2 toilets and has been 2 months and cleaning the toilet is now easier and I no longer have to unscrew the toilet seats to clean bolt/screw holes…
