Ring Alarm Keypad Hardwire Using Your Old Wired Alarm’s Wiring – DC to DC Buck Converter

Today, I’ll share a hack or modification that you can do to hardwire your Ring Alarm’s keypad using your old wired alarm’s wiring. Most of us that are upgrading to a wireless DIY Home Alarm system have kept the wiring of our old wired alarm especially if you have your house pre-wired for an alarm system years ago.

This modification was shared to me by a viewer that by using a cheap 12 volt to 5 volt adapter, we can continually plug in our Ring Alarm Keypad so that we don’t have to charge it anymore and also we can turn off the power save mode in the settings in the app.
