Have gum in the hair – Rub Ice on it

gum-in-hair-ice

You know how sticky it can get when you step on a gum and worse is when it gets in your hair. It can be frustrating and there are chemicals like WD-40, baby oil and even just elbow grease that you can use to take the gum out. The stickiness is the one that makes the gum hard to remove.

Well, a simple no chemical type of hack that you can use is applying plain ice. You can rub the gum in the hair with ice until it becomes harder and it will not be as sticky and you can then easily remove the gum. If you cooled it down pretty good, you can remove the gum as a one unit, if not then the remaining gum will just tend to crumble like a dried up playdoh.

So, if you or somebody you know have gum in their hair. Tell them not to mess with it anymore. Find a cube or two of ice, rub it on the gum and on the hair until the gum turns solid and not as sticky. Cool it down some more for good measure then try to pull out the gum. Whatever remains on the hair, rub it down again with ice and use your fingers to take off whatever is left. You can then use a comb to get any gum that is in between strands of the hair.
