Using a carwash vacuum to effectively clean your car

My family like to go to the beach and the only gripe I have is when it is time to wash and vacuum the car from all the beach sand and dirt that we bring along inside the car.

Well, the only problem with beach sand is that they bury and stick themselves deep in the carpet fibers. The cars wash vacuum, even with a powerful suction is not able to suck those deep dirt and I frequently needing to rub the nozzle on the carpet to scrub those sand and dirt off the carpet. It does somewhat work but not efficiently.

I don’t know if it is just me but those vacuum that the car wash uses and also like the Shop VAC in our garage are missing an important attachment / accessory that most house vacuums have….. a brush… That is why floor carpet vacuums have a rolling brush on the bottom. It is used to scrub down the carpet and agitate that deep down dirt so that it can be sucked effectively by the vacuum.

So, why these Shop Vacs don’t have them? I really don’t know the answer but if they see this post, then it might turn on a light bulb and realize that it is a good idea to add a brush nozzle on their vacuums.

Anyways, a technique that I use is to always have a small brush with firm bristles always in my car cleaning kit and I use it to scrub down the carpet with hard to clean dirt while pointing the vacuum nozzle beside it. I also use the brush to “sweep” the dirt towards the nozzle. It makes cleaning the carpet easier and faster.

You can cut the cleaning time of your car in half also because while using the brush on the carpet, you can always use it as a duster and dust/sweep plastic areas on the inside door panels, dashboard down on the floor where you can vacuum it off.
